The Cabildo asks for "responsibility" from students returning during Easter and will facilitate the management of PCR

The aim is to avoid a rebound of infections and two telephone numbers have been set up to make an appointment and take the free test that the Health Service continues to offer to residents.

Analysis of a Covid-19 PCR test

The Cabildo of Lanzarote wants to avoid a rebound of infections during Easter, so it appeals to the "responsibility" of the students who return to the island for these dates and provides them with a contact to process the performance of PCR tests at origin "in order to guarantee the safety of the population".

The president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, highlights "the good behavior of the residents of Lanzarote, which has allowed to reduce the level of incidence of COVID-19 on the island", and trusts that the students "will follow their example and take the necessary measures to safeguard the health of all their relatives and friends, carrying out diagnostic tests before flying, which are completely free, as they did last Christmas".

For his part, the Minister of Health, Juan Manuel Sosa, recalls that "to minimize the risks of contagion, students who do not come with the PCR done, must undergo the diagnostic test once they land on the island".

In order to facilitate the procedures, the Cabildo, in collaboration with the Health Area of Lanzarote, provides the population with two telephone numbers. To arrange the diagnostic test, students or a family member must request the appointment 48 hours before their arrival in Lanzarote, either by calling the landline number 928 595 266 or by sending a WhatsApp message to the mobile 677 980 642 between 8:00 and 19:00 hours.

Once the appointment has been requested, they will receive all the necessary information to carry out the test and must appear at the place, day and time indicated by the health personnel. However, and until obtaining the result within a period not exceeding 24 hours, all students are advised to remain without contact with the most vulnerable people in their environment and to maintain hygiene measures, mask and distance.
