The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) recognized this Tuesday the five Lanzarote students who achieved the best grades in the EBAU on the island and who, in turn, are among the ten students who obtained the best grades in the entire province.
The event, which took place at 11 a.m. in the Cabildo of Lanzarote, was attended by the vice president, Jacobo Medina, and the Minister of Education, Paula Corujo, as well as the rector of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Rafael Robayna; the vice-rector of Students, Antonio Ramos; the general secretary, Rosa Rodríguez; the director of Access, Nicanor Guerra; the vice-counselor of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands, María Dolores Rodríguez, and the island director of Education, Celeste Callero.
Paulina Martín Alonso, a student at the IES César Manrique in Arrecife, was one of the recognized students. She obtained a 10 in Baccalaureate and in the three common subjects of the EBAU and a 9.9 in Mathematics. In addition, she obtained a 9.15 in Chemistry and a 9.5 in Biology.
Another of the recognized students is Ignacio García Guadalupe, from the IES Las Salinas in Arrecife, who also obtained a 10 in Baccalaureate. His grade in the three common subjects of the EBAU was also 10 and 9.9 in Spanish Language and Literature. In addition, he achieved a 10 in Biology and an 8.25 in Chemistry.
As for Alba Armas Mesa, a student at the Arenas Internacional School, she finished Baccalaureate with a grade of 9.94. In the three common subjects of the EBAU she achieved a 10 and a 9.75 in Spanish Language and Literature, while her grade in the two modality subjects was a 10.
Ariana Godoy Brito, a student at the IES Las Salinas in Arrecife, achieved a 10 in Baccalaureate. Her grade in the three common subjects of the EBAU was 10 and 9.5 in Latin. In the two modality subjects she also achieved a 10.
Finally, Mar de la Hoz Morales, a student at the IES Costa Teguise, also achieved a 10 in Baccalaureate. In the three common subjects of the EBAU she obtained a 10 and a 9.5 in English, and in the two modality subjects a 10. The Vice-Rectorate of the ULPG has given each of them a pen with the ULPGC logo as a gift for their grades.
Both the vice president of the Cabildo and the Minister of Education congratulated the students and their families "for the enormous effort made." "We are very proud of the exemplary nature of these magnificent students who, despite the difficulties experienced, especially this year due to the health crisis, have sacrificed themselves and worked very hard, and now have the doors open to all universities to fulfill their dreams," said Jacobo Medina.
