This Friday, the presentation ceremony of the sculpture in homage to Canarian wrestling was held. The work has been installed on Ahenión Street in the town of Tao, in front of the Andrés Curbelo "Pollo de Tao" wrestling arena.

The sculptor Rigoberto Camacho Pérez immortalizes the moment in which two wrestlers in the middle of a wrestling task carry out a "Levantada de Pecho" (Chest Lift). Camacho clearly reflects the feeling, work and tenacity of what this family has been doing for so many years so that the vernacular sport remains alive in the arenas. The sculpture is made of polyester resin and iron fiber, weighs approximately 300 kilos and its height reaches 2.40 meters.

The presentation began with the performance of the Teguise municipal music band directed by Professor Ayoze Rodríguez, who presented the public with several musical pieces. Among those present were also the mayor of Teguise Oswaldo Betancort accompanied by some councilors from the government team, the president of the Tao wrestling club, Francisco Díaz Romero, the president of the Lanzarote Wrestling Federation José Hernández Cabrera, the sculptor Rigoberto Camacho Pérez, the president of the C.S.C. El Fomento de Tao, Rita Martín and numerous residents of the town of Tao. The sculpture, which has positively surprised everyone, is a gift that comes to reward the 80th anniversary that the great family of the Tao wrestling club is celebrating.
