'San Bartolomé Weekend Shopping' closes its XIII edition with high participation

The strategy designed by the commerce area of the San Bartolomé City Council to boost and promote local commerce closes an edition where the main protagonist has been the consumer who once again supported the 65 participating businesses.

The shops were filled with customers looking to get discounts and promotions from Friday morning, on the occasion of the 'San Bartolomé Weekend Shopping'. In the afternoon, the commercial area was filled with music with the performance of the Elisa Gómez Quartet, which set the atmosphere for the visit of Batman and Isabela, who pleased the little ones together with the children's workshops organized by the "Cosquillita en la panza" play center.

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, highlights that the total number of participants "in a weekend full of activity aimed at local commerce was around 640 participants with more than 5,000 entries in the digital draw, and the delivery of more than 2,500 direct prizes, through the 'wheel of fortune', which demonstrates the volume of sales that occurred, and the acceptance that this type of event has in the municipality".

That same afternoon, the magician Raúl Magic presented his show "Magic of the Heart" in the tent installed on Avenida de las Palmeras, creating an afternoon of fantasy and illusion from the youngest to the adult audience. At the end, the renowned presenter Leandro Martín proceeded to read the IX jury verdict of the window dressing contest and the delivery of the credit notes to the businesses "Calzados Caché", "Emociones Flower Shop" and "Boutique Elvira".

The program continued with the inauguration of the V solidarity exhibition of the Nieves Martín art workshop, where all the proceeds went to the association "7 days for 7 lives" in the La Bodeguita multipurpose room. Right on the same street and taking advantage of the wonderful night in San Bartolomé, the Christmas concert of the Janubio band took place, which brought together a very dedicated audience.

Saturday held the largest number of updates and activities. At 10 in the morning, the inflatables, the play center opened and the exhibition opened. At that same time, the first parade left from the La Plaza del Carmen neighborhood, made up of Disney characters, Father and Mother Christmas in Calesa, the Yaiza Easter Ranch, and the members of the 101 Brass Band who came from Tenerife.

Throughout the morning, several children's workshops, small-format concerts such as the "contrast trio" and the "Dubbi Kids" took place. At noon, the second parade with the "Comparsa Los Guaracheros" left from the Town Hall Square, touring several streets until reaching the main stage, bringing together an audience eager for a party, surrounded by a perfect tapas and restaurant area. With the last roar of drums, the concert by "Los 600" from Gran Canaria and "Ni un pelo de tonto" from Tenerife started with maximum precision.

The afternoon continued with puppet theater, street theater and the Christmas concert of the band "Los Gurfines son los del puerto" and the show by the students of Celia Medina. At 6:00 p.m., the last parade started from the El Cascajo neighborhood, with the 101 Brass Band, fantasy people and LED robots that gave magic and fantasy to young and old. Just after finishing, in the lower avenue area, the Guaychara batucada started, which moved the public again to the "El tonelero" roundabout to see the show that Aerial Circo Lanzarote prepared for the occasion.

At the end, the long-awaited Maná Tribute concert by the Toledo group "HerManados" began, which took a tour of the best-known repertoire of the Mexican formation. Halfway through the concert, the Canarian presenter Javier López went up to start the draw. A draw where more than 5000 entries were registered.

The first prize, an international trip for two people, went to Belén Pérez Corujo, who bought at Muebles Rubicón, and was presented by the mayor of the San Bartolomé City Council. Isidro Pérez Martín.

The Councilor for Commerce, Education and Culture, Alma Mª González, presented the second prize, a trip for two people to any Canary Island, to Rosa Pérez with a participation from Uniformes Tile.
