The Canary Islands orchestra Nueva Línea will perform at the carnivals of San Bartolomé, in Lanzarote. This was announced by the mayor, Isidro Pérez, on his social media account. This musical band, which has garnered tens of millions of listens on social media, has become famous after two of its street party songs went viral on TikTok.
The orchestra, from the town of Arafo, in Tenerife, is composed of four young singers: Sofía Marrero, Raquel González, Mayte Cabrera, and Alicia Padilla, and five musicians.
Despite the group having a 30-year career, these singers have become famous after reinterpreting two hits: Un beso, by Grupo Manía, and Noche de Copas, by Juan Carlos Calderón.
Following their success on social media, various town councils in the Canary Islands and on the mainland have scheduled dates to feature Nueva Línea during carnival celebrations and their summer festivals.
