Salvamento Marítimo rescues a boat heading to Lanzarote in the early morning

Salvamento Marítimo rescued 55 sub-Saharan males in the early hours of this Thursday, May 8.

According to Agencia Efe, a call made at 4:56 p.m. this Wednesday from the inflatable boat itself, in which 55 men of sub-Saharan origin were traveling, alerted the emergency services to the presence of this boat in waters near the Canary Islands.

Once it was verified that the boat was about 104 kilometers northeast of Arrecife, Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the Guardamar Polimnia, whose crew was able to rescue its occupants at 9:51 p.m. to disembark them at 1:05 a.m. in the capital of Lanzarote.

The Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) has reported that all have arrived in apparently good health.
