Salvamento Marítimo has rescued on the morning of this Wednesday, August 26, two men of Moroccan origin who were traveling in an inflatable boat off the coast of Lanzarote, according to the island's emergency services.
As explained to EFE by the Consortium of Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote, the two occupants, who were in apparent good health, stated that they had left Safi, a city located west of Morocco, and informed the emergency teams of their intention to request asylum.
Salvamento Marítimo mobilized a Salvamar, which transferred the two men to the port of Arrecife, where they disembarked around seven in the morning, the same sources indicated.
