Salvamento Marítimo rescues 59 people including two children and a baby near Lanzarote

At first hour of the morning they have been transferred to Puerto Naos where they have been attended by the Red Cross

Maritime Rescue has rescued on the early morning of this Saturday, May 9, a precarious boat with 59 people on board, according to the Emergency Consortium.

All occupants of the inflatable boat, among whom are two children and a baby, have been transferred to Puerto Naos. There they have been assisted by volunteers from the Red Cross and National Police.

For now, the nationalities and health status of the migrant persons are unknown.

This is the second dinghy that arrives on the island this week. On May 6, a boat arrived on its own means with 49 males, of whom four are minors who were traveling alone to the east coast of Lanzarote.
