Lanzarote and La Graciosa will experience from this week a radical weather change where cool and pleasant temperatures will give way to hot values more typical of summer and the presence of calima, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
This change we will notice from the day of Thursday, when temperatures begin to rise notably. Aemet forecasts for this day partly cloudy skies with high clouds and the presence of light haze at high levels in the eastern province. Temperatures will begin to increase, especially in the interior of Lanzarote, with values that will be situated between 14 and 27 degrees.
Progressively, these values will continue to increase on Friday, when temperatures are expected to experience a notable rise with minimums between 15 and 16 degrees and maximums of 29. In addition, suspended dust will be significant in the second half of the day.
Ahead of the weekend, the thermometer will reach summer temperatures. On Saturday the calima will remain present and temperatures up to 32 degrees will be reached although exceeding these values locally is not ruled out.
Already on the day of Sunday, the highest peak of this episode will be reached with temperatures of up to 33 degrees in inland areas and the south of Lanzarote. In the northern area, the 30 barrier will also be exceeded. On Monday, temperatures will begin to gradually decrease.
