Outrage on social media over a video of buggies driving on dirt roads

A Facebook video, shared by a rally fan, shows several buggies driving at high speed on dirt roads.

In the recording, the man complains that the vehicles are going "on the same section" that the Rally Islas de los Volcanes would have passed through if it had been held.

"This is sad to see," the indignant fan points out. "For the rally, the birds are disturbed, but not with these buggies."

It should be noted that the Cabildo of Lanzarote decided to suspend the competition just one day before its start, citing environmental reasons, such as the "nesting of several protected species", some of them in "danger of extinction".
