The young man from Lanzarote, Noe Jon, only 13 years old, passed away this past January 21st in Portugal after not being able to overcome the serious injuries he suffered when he was run over by a car while returning home by bicycle.

Jon got involved, since he was a baby, in the care and cleaning of Lanzarote through the Lanzarote Limpia Association, of which his parents were founders. Furthermore, he loved photography and was in charge of capturing those moments of collective unity in the difficult task of keeping Lanzarote free of waste in natural spaces. "We always joked with him, telling him that when we had money, we would pay him for his services," says Aduén, from Lanzarote Limpia.

From a very young age, he and his brother attended every activity of the association. In fact, Lanzarote Limpia will pay tribute to him next February, on a date yet to be confirmed. Anyone who wishes can join. Likewise, the AMPA of the Mala school also wants to remember him through a tribute.

His family lived in Mala, where they still maintain their home and to which they go regularly. In this northern town, they began their life on the island, although a couple of years ago they decided to move to Portugal.

After a brave fight, his family states that "he fought like a true lion until he left us and, despite our deep sorrow, we are grateful to have been able to enjoy a time with you that has, unfortunately, been too brief.""You are now in a better place, without suffering or pain, and that comforts us. You watch over us and we are sure we will see each other again. Until then, you will always be in our hearts," they communicated
