The family of Carlos Javier Murgas Hernández continues to wait, amidst enormous uncertainty, for news of this Venezuelan who has resided in Lanzarote for almost twenty years. The Venezuelan remains missing after his building collapsed due to the strong earthquakes that struck the Latin American country last week.
So far, rescuers have not been able to remove the debris from the building where he was located due to the lack of machinery. "We need big machines to go," asks Adriana Cuneo, Carlos Javier's wife.
"When there are machines, there are no operators or there is a lack of diesel," says Cuneo, who assures that the situation "is a horror and a chaos". This is because the lack of resources is one of the main problems in the country after the impact of the two earthquakes of 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale.
Carlos Javier Murgas Hernández is missing in the state of La Guaira after the building where he was located collapsed. Specifically, his building, called Breña Sol, was located in the Caribe Urbanization, just behind a McDonald's establishment in Caraballeda.
The family has disseminated this information on social media to locate Carlos Javier and has provided the following phone number in case anyone has news of him: 0414 125 4497.
So far, the earthquakes have left 1,450 dead and 3,150 injured. Among them, there are 150 missing Spaniards and 17 dead, two of them from the Canary Islands.
