The heat returns to Lanzarote in the middle of September. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated the yellow alert for high temperatures in Lanzarote and La Graciosa for values that can reach 37 degrees.
The yellow alert will begin at 11:00 AM this Wednesday, September 23, and will end at 6:59 PM on the same day. Thus, temperatures are expected to reach 34 degrees, but could reach up to 37 locally in southern areas.
Temperatures have begun to rise since this Monday, when 30 degrees will already be reached and, in addition, there is the presence of haze.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, there will be cloudy skies with a predominance of medium and high clouds and a low probability of occasional rainfall that could be accompanied by thunderstorms. Likewise, the presence of haze will continue. Temperatures will be in slight to moderate ascent, it could be more significant on the north and west slopes. 34 degrees will be reached locally in inland-south and west areas, and 30 degrees in the rest of the island. The wind will blow from weak to moderate from the northeast. Locally strong gusts of variable direction associated with thunderstorms are not ruled out.
After the yellow alert on Wednesday, on Thursday temperatures will remain high with highs of up to 34 degrees and lows between 21 and 24 degrees. Thus, haze will continue to affect Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
