Netflix seeks extras in Lanzarote for a new international production

The agency Figu Canarias launches a massive casting that requires from African music groups to real couples to film on the island at the end of April

Netflix

Lanzarote will once again become a large film set of international dimensions. The streaming platform Netflix will land on the island this April for the filming of a new fiction, and the production machinery has already been set in motion. The agency Figu Canarias, in charge of extras, has opened a casting call to cover various profiles that will participate in the scheduled recordings from April 21 to 28 in different parts of Lanzarote's geography.

The search is broad, but the agency has placed special emphasis on very specific profiles. Among the published advertisements, the need to hire African music groups that have their own instruments stands out, as well as men and women of African origin to play waiter roles with ease in handling trays.

Real couples and paid work

In addition to these profiles, the production is looking for real couples between 18 and 40 years old to participate in a kissing scene. As specified by the agency on its social media, all offered positions are paid and entail the corresponding registration with Social Security, complying with the current labor regulations for the audiovisual sector.

Those interested in participating in this production, which will subsequently move to Fuerteventura during the month of May, must register through the official forms enabled by the agency.

Lanzarote, preferred destination for film

This new project reinforces Lanzarote's position as one of the preferred destinations for major international platforms and production companies, attracted not only by tax incentives, but by the uniqueness of the volcanic landscape and the logistical facilities the island offers. Although details about the plot or the film's title are kept under strict confidentiality —a common practice in Netflix projects—, it is expected that the filming will generate a notable economic impact on the local service sector during its stay.

How to sign up? > People who fit the profiles can send their application to the email casting@figucanarias.es or complete the form available on the agency's official social media profiles.
