Salvamento Marítimo is going in search of a zodiac-type dinghy that is about two miles north of Lanzarote, according to the Emergency Consortium.
There would be about 48 people on board, including 18 children and no women. The occupants of the dinghy themselves have called CECOES and indicated that they left Morocco about four days ago. The health status of the occupants is currently unknown.
Once the zodiac is located, the occupants will be collected and transferred to Puerto Naos in Arrecife where they will be attended to by the Red Cross.
