Maritime Rescue rescues a boat three miles from Órzola, among them is a child with appendicitis problems who has been evacuated by helicopter

The occupants of a small boat arrived on the morning of Monday, April 17 in Arrecife, led by Maritime Rescue.

According to the Emergency Consortium, one of the children on board has suffered a possible appendicitis and had to be evacuated by helicopter to the airport and from there he was transferred by ambulance to Molina Orosa.

The wooden boat, in which the 46 people of sub-Saharan origin are traveling, was located at 03.17 hours when it was sailing 3 miles from Órzola, northwest of Lanzarote, as confirmed by CECOES. Among them are two women and seven children.

The Red Cross has provided assistance on land once they have disembarked at the Commercial dock of the capital of Lanzarote.
