Maritime Rescue has rescued this Wednesday 48 men, including five possible minors, who had been stranded north of Lanzarote when trying to reach the island by boat from Morocco.
As a spokesperson for the state company informed EFE, the boat has been located by the Helimer 204 helicopter west of the islet of Alegranza, about 24 kilometers north of Lanzarote.
The occupants of the boat, who have managed to call by phone for help, have stated that they left five days ago from Agadir, a Moroccan town located about 400 kilometers from Lanzarote.
The Guardamar Talía is transferring them at this time to the port of Arrecife, where their arrival is expected at 10:00 p.m.
