Maritime Rescue has rescued the occupants of a small boat that was about twelve miles from Arrecife, according to the Emergency Consortium. At the time of the notice, the boat was 25 miles away. No rescue has been carried out near the island since June 27. Since then, only cayucos had arrived.
The Emergency Coordination Center (CECOES) has reported that the boat would have been spotted by a fishing boat, which waited for it until the arrival of the Guardamar.
CECOES has assured that a total of 47 people of Maghreb origin were traveling in the boat (43 men, three women, one minor). All in apparent good health.
