A total of 64 migrants of Moroccan origin were rescued this Thursday after an inflatable boat was located when it was sailing several tens of miles east of Lanzarote. The intervention was carried out by the Salvamar Al Nair, which transferred all occupants to Puerto Naos, in Arrecife, where they were attended to by the health and humanitarian services deployed at the pier.
According to the final data of the operation, among the occupants were 59 men and five women, as well as 11 minors, all of them unaccompanied males.
During the assistance provided upon their arrival in the capital of Lanzarote, it was necessary to evacuate one person to a health center for a more exhaustive evaluation.
The boat had departed from the coast of Morocco and was intercepted by Maritime Rescue before its arrival in Lanzarote, culminating a new rescue operation on the Canarian migratory route.
