The migratory pressure that Lanzarote has been suffering since Friday does not ease and the four ships that Maritime Rescue has stationed on that island have rescued 486 people from nine inflatable boats so far this Monday.
That figure includes 31 women and a minimum of twelve minors, according to the counts provided by Maritime Rescue.
The first rescues were carried out at dawn by the Guardamares Concepción Arenal and Urania, by providing assistance to 57 people of Maghrebi origin in the first case (including one woman), and 57 of sub-Saharan origin in the second (with six women and six minors).
Afterwards, the Salvamar Al Nair rescued 49 men of sub-Saharan and Maghrebi origin located just 14 kilometers from the coast.
Almost in parallel, the Guardamar Urania was mobilized again, which has transferred to the port of Arrecife the 225 occupants of four inflatable boats that were about 50 kilometers from the coast.
This is a group of 62 people of sub-Saharan origin (including five women and one minor) and another three groups of 40, 60 and 63 men of Maghrebi origin.
The last two rescues so far have been carried out by the Guardamar Calíope, which has rescued 40 kilometers east of the island another two inflatable boats with 57 people of mostly Maghrebi origin and also some Asians (including ten women and two minors) and the other with 41 also Maghrebis (with three women and ten minors).
From Friday until midnight, Maritime Rescue had disembarked 855 immigrants in Lanzarote located near the island on board 18 boats, according to a count by the Red Cross.
