A vessel of Maritime Rescue has rescued this morning 37 immigrants who were traveling in a dinghy in waters near Lanzarote, according to sources informed to EFE from the emergency services.
The occupants of the small boat are being transferred by Maritime Rescue to Puerto Naos, where they are expected to arrive around 11:45 (Canarian time).
It is the fourth precarious vessel that arrives from the African coasts to the Canary Islands since last Friday, when Rescue escorted a cayuco with 150 people on board to the port of La Restinga.
Subsequently, two dinghies in which 94 people were traveling were assisted: one was rescued on Saturday when it was sailing south of Gran Canaria with 47 immigrants, and the other southeast of Fuerteventura with as many other migrants.
