Luis Alvarado from Lanzarote has been chosen as one of the most talented young people in Spain. This conejero has earned a spot in 'The Nova 111', a list with which the digital talent platform Nova Talent recognizes and rewards profiles with the most potential for the future and the transformation of the country.
According to a statement, 1,600 applications from all over the country have been evaluated by committees of experts "of the highest level." The 111 award winners come from 11 different sectors, from engineering, the health sector, legal services, technology, and the public sector and politics, with Luis Alvarado being highlighted as one of the best profiles in this last sector.
Luis Alvarado Martínez is from Lanzarote and is a graduate of the ULPGC, the College of Europe in Bruges, and the London School of Economics. He has held international positions as president of AEGEE-Europe and president of the European Youth Forum, where he says he helped "negotiate the expansion of the new Erasmus budgets (from 14,000 to 26,000 million) and won the legal battle before the EU to ban unpaid internships in institutions.
Alvarado has also worked with the Rockefeller Foundation in its resilient cities program and in the Congress of Deputies, and he currently advises the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on climate change.
His work has earned him recognitions such as European Youth of the Year 2013, the European Charlemagne Youth Prize from the European Parliament, the Public Service Innovation Award from the European Commission, and recognitions from the Government of the Canary Islands and the Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country in Gran Canaria, among others.
He lives between the United Kingdom and Spain and is on the Board of Directors of the ICL Foundation, which works to elevate the Hispanic community internationally and in the USA.
