The Murga Las Revoltosas and the Parranda Marinera Los Buches have received the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands 2023 on Wednesday night.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote in office, María Dolores Corujo, was present at the institutional event held at the Tenerife Auditorium, where she was able to see first-hand the well-deserved recognition received by both groups from Lanzarote.
Dolores Corujo conveyed her congratulations "both to the dean murga, which is a source of pride for the traditions and culture of Lanzarote and for all the women artists of the Island, and to the Los Buches group, who represent the spirit and memory of the sailors and coastal towns of Lanzarote through their compositions."
In addition to the Canary Islands Awards 2023, the Government of the Canary Islands presented the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands 2023 to 12 other figures at the regional level this Tuesday, on the occasion of the celebration of Canary Islands Day, for their invaluable contribution to the conservation and expansion of the art, culture, music, heritage or values of the people of the Archipelago.
Likewise, the Canary Islands Awards 2023 went to the Spanish Association against Cancer in the Canary Islands, for its altruistic and solidarity actions; to José A. Alemán, as an emblem of Canarian journalism, and to the Coordinator of NGOs for the Development of the Canary Islands, in the International category.
