Lawyers ask to know in advance the suspension of trials due to the strike of court clerks

In a letter addressed to the TSJC, they indicate that they respect the right to strike of the group, but ask for respect for citizens and legal and prosecution professionals.

The Lanzarote Bar Association sent a letter to the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands this Tuesday, February 14, in which it showed its respect for the exercise of the right to strike by this group, but also respect for citizens and legal and prosecution professionals, "to whom the suspension of trials is causing considerable damage."

"We ask for more sensitivity, such as, for example, notifying suspensions at least 24 hours in advance and not at the door of the trial room, since parties, witnesses, experts and, of course, professionals are forced to make useless trips; sometimes from another island and even from the peninsula. Also with urgent issues and especially with those issues that affect people in situations of special vulnerability," they conclude from ICALAN.

From ICALAN they ask, in view of the meeting that the Ministry of Justice and the Strike Committee of the Lawyers of the Administration of Justice will hold this Thursday, "the materialization of a definitive agreement that puts an end to this paralysis of judicial activity that is causing so much damage to citizens."
