The Lanzarote lawyer Antonio Martinón Armas has passed away this Sunday. Martinón dedicated himself body and soul to the profession to which he dedicated six decades.

The island's Bar Association presented him with the Gold Medal in 2015 at an event held in the auditorium of Los Jameos del Agua.

The president of Parliament and lawyer by profession, Ástrid Pérez, has lamented his loss, "a jurist dedicated with love for six decades to that profession that we share, and a politician at heart. "Antonio Martinón has left behind the impeccable legacy of his work both in law and in his political work in his native land," he added.

Antonio leaves behind his wife Mari Nieves López and his children Isabel, Mabebe, Goreti, Antonio and Luis Eduardo and seven grandchildren.
