The Canary Islands Institute of Equality (ICI) published this Tuesday in the Contracting Platform the announcement of the tender for the purchase of five properties on different islands, one of them in Lanzarote, which will host the five 24-hour crisis centers to address sexual violence planned in the Canary Islands.
Until April 17, both individuals and companies that own properties that meet the requirements set out in the specifications can submit offers. Consultations must be made through the platform and until April 7.
Properties will be acquired on the islands of Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Palma to house these centers. They must be located in the areas established as priorities, be available and meet the requirements and surfaces specified in each case.
These crisis centers will offer telephone, telematic and face-to-face support and information 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Complying with criteria of permanent attention and urgent action, the centers will provide psychological, legal and social care for victims, families and people in the environment, through sufficient and qualified personnel.
As explained by the director of the ICI, Ana Brito, "in each of these centers a multidisciplinary team will work to develop a work of prevention and comprehensive care for any sexual violence. In addition, victims will have support throughout the process, even if they have not filed a complaint, and regardless of when they have suffered sexual violence, in the past or in the present."
The objective of having the centers open 24 hours a day throughout the year is to be able to assist and advise the victim at the time they need it, as well as their family and friends.
