The active cases of Covid have skyrocketed to 225 in Lanzarote, which since January 5 has added 64 new positives, 52 in the last day.

This is one of the highest peaks recorded since the start of the pandemic on the island, which had not recorded such a high number of daily infections since the end of August and the beginning of September. Specifically, the highest number was reported on August 27, when there were 69 new positives. At that time, Lanzarote also suffered a significant rebound in cases, with several days in which more than fifty new infections were also exceeded.

It should be remembered that on Epiphany the Ministry of Health did not update the detailed data, reporting only the new diagnoses, which were 12 on that day, to which are added the 52 communicated this Thursday. However, it has now reported that in the last two days there were also 21 discharges.

In the Molina Orosa Hospital there are still two people admitted, one in the ICU and one on the ward, while the remaining 223 patients are in home isolation.

The number of accumulated cases since the beginning of the pandemic already amounts to 1,750 in Lanzarote, of which nine died and 1,516 have overcome the disease.

Lanzarote currently has an accumulated incidence of 109 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days, while at 14 days it amounts to 154.3.
