Irregular vessel intercepted in Lanzarote waters

The Salvamar Al Nair rescued on Sunday morning a new irregular vessel in waters near Lanzarote, as confirmed by the Emergency Coordination Center (CECOES).

Maritime Rescue received the alert about the sighting of the raft around 10:00 AM, with twelve people on board apparently in good health.

At the moment, the Salvamar Al Nair is escorting the vessel to Puerto Naos, where it is expected to arrive around 7:30 PM this afternoon.

Once at the port, health personnel and the Red Cross will attend to and assess these people.
