IES Agustín Espinosa celebrates the 75th anniversary of its old building with a series of round tables

The talks will take place in the afternoons, in parallel to the cultural week, and are open to the public

In 1947, the first part of the oldest building of the IES Agustín Espinosa was completed, which at that time was the only secondary school on the island. To mark this 75th anniversary, the center has organized a series of round tables on education and culture

The round tables will be held every afternoon until this Thursday during the institute's traditional cultural week, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The cycle is open to the interested public, who only need to register by sending an email to iesagustinespinosa2022@gmail.com.

This Tuesday, the historical heritage of Arrecife will be the focus of a debate in which the Director of Cultural Heritage of the Government of the Canary Islands, Nona Perera, the president of the College of Architects of Lanzarote, Miguel Ángel Fontes, and the coordinator of the Heritage axis of the CEP Lanzarote, Zebensui Rodríguez, will participate.

On Wednesday, former teachers and students will share their personal experiences. The current director, Carmen Rosa Robayna, will coordinate a talk in which Mercedes Maura Palarea Medina, Enrique Díaz and Mario Ferrer will participate.

The cycle will close on Thursday, April 28 with a round table on Education coordinated by the Head of Studies, Cecilia Peniñet, which will feature the Minister of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands, Manuela de Armas, the director of the CEIP Capellanía de Yágabo, María Dolores Romero and the specialist Fernando Posada.
