The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands is starting this Tuesday vaccination without prior appointment for the booster dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 for people between 18 and 39 years of age, that is, those born between 1982 and 2003 and who have completed their vaccination with two doses.

People who completed their vaccination schedule with Pfizer or Moderna must wait at least five months to receive the booster dose after the change in the time intervals established by the Vaccine Panel, which until now marked it at six months, while those who completed their schedule with AstraZeneca or Janssen may receive the booster dose after waiting at least three months.

In the case of a person who has tested positive for Covid-19 after receiving the complete vaccination schedule, the waiting time between diagnosis and administration of the booster dose must be at least four weeks.

People between the ages of 18 and 39 can make an appointment to receive this booster dose only through the miCitaPrevia mobile app of the SCS or through the same web application. At the moment, the 012 appointment telephone is still being prioritized for age groups only up to 40 years.

The spaces enabled for mass vaccination without appointment in all age groups for the first and second doses, as well as for booster doses, will have a maximum number of daily doses available for those who come without an appointment.

For the first dose of the child population from 5 to 11 years old, specific hours will be enabled at the different vaccination points.
