The Ministry of Health reports 12 new Covid outbreaks in Lanzarote in the last week. Of these, one of educational origin stands out, with work and family ramifications, accounting for a total of 16 people affected.
In the regional sphere, the Canary Islands reports 99 new outbreaks this week with 487 cases. These new outbreaks are distributed by islands as follows: 43 in Gran Canaria, 33 in Tenerife, 12 in Lanzarote, nine in Fuerteventura, one in La Palma and one in El Hierro. These new outbreaks represent an increase of 53 compared to those reported last week.
By area in which they occurred, 30 are family-related, 29 work-related, 28 social, nine educational and three in socially vulnerable groups.
This week, most of the outbreaks range between three and eight cases, except for three that exceed the figure of 10 people infected, the largest being the aforementioned one of educational origin in Lanzarote.
Of the three outbreaks registered in socially vulnerable groups reported among people arriving in the Canary Islands by small boat or canoes, one has been registered in Fuerteventura, one in Lanzarote and another in El Hierro.
Family outbreaks, all reported among families from different addresses, range between three and six associated cases, except for one in Gran Canaria with nine positives.
Social outbreaks have between three and six associated cases, except for one with family ramifications with 13 people infected and related to a Halloween party in Tenerife, and another with eight people affected, related to nightlife in Fuerteventura.
Work outbreaks also have between three and six associated cases, except for one with family ramifications that has 13 people affected reported in a construction company in Gran Canaria.
The nine educational outbreaks, all with family ramifications, have been registered four in Tenerife (with 10, six, six and five people affected), three in Gran Canaria (with nine, eight and five cases), one in Fuerteventura with five positives, and the aforementioned one in Lanzarote with 16 cases.
Monitoring is also continuing on eleven old outbreaks, among which, due to being among the most numerous, the health outbreak with family ramifications registered at the Hospital San Roque Meloneras stands out, which already has 33 people affected, an educational/family outbreak in Tenerife with 14 cases and another of social origin in La Gomera with 13 people affected.
