"Before the end of this month there will be a meeting of the Interterritorial Health Council to study the possibility of eliminating the mandatory use of masks in hospitals, clinics and pharmacies", announced this Friday the Minister of Health, José Miñones.

In an interview on RNE collected by EFE, Miñones pointed out that it is an issue that must be addressed with "seriousness" and "rigor", and that, therefore, they have to "talk to the experts and dialogue with the autonomous communities about this issue", through the Interterritorial Council.

The minister stressed that "it will be the experts - with the technical reports - who will tell us how to proceed with its withdrawal", either "in a prolonged or definitive or staggered manner", before expressing his conviction that "we are closer to it being a recommended use, rather than mandatory"
