A plane suffered a frustrated landing this past Tuesday upon arrival on the runway at the César Manrique Airport in Lanzarote. The events occurred after 7:30 p.m. in the afternoon.
As captured by a camera from Lanzarote Webcam, at that moment, an aircraft from the British company Jet2 approached the runway and after several seconds on the ground, took flight again.
As La Voz has learned, it is flight LS545 that connected Newcastle with Lanzarote and departed last Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. from the English city. After four and a half hours of flight, it could not land on the island on the first attempt.
This frustrated landing operation is known as TOGA, corresponding to the English acronym "touch and go around" and occurs in an approach maneuver when the landing does not end up being safe.
This past Tuesday, the island was on alert for wind and reached maximum gusts of up to 84 kilometers per hour.
