Former Yaiza councilor Miguel Ángel Cáceres dies at 49

He currently runs the Cofradía de Pescadores de Playa Blanca restaurant.

Miguel Ángel Cáceres Umpiérrez from Yaiza, known as Pope, passed away during the early hours of this Thursday at the age of 49. 

Miguel Ángel Cáceres was a councilor of Police and Civil Protection of the Canarian Coalition in the Yaiza City Council, as well as a councilor in the opposition. While he currently ran the Cofradía de Pescadores de Playa Blanca restaurant. 

As a result of his loss, the Yaiza City Council has lamented his death and has conveyed its condolences to his relatives. The Councilor for Festivities of the Yaiza City Council, Javier Camacho, has stated that he was a "very beautiful person, someone very loved." Likewise, the former Councilor of Yaiza Ángel Domínguez (Canarian Coalition) has stated that he was a "very good person."
