The former president of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Ricardo Melchior, passed away this Saturday at the age of 78, as confirmed by the President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, on his social media.
"Today we bid farewell to a generous colleague and a benchmark of public service. Ricardo loved Tenerife and the Canary Islands through commitment, dialogue, and constant work. He left his mark on the Cabildo and on those of us who learned by his side. A hug to his family. Rest in peace, president," the regional president stated.
