The sound of ambulance, police and fire truck sirens surprised Arrecife residents this Friday morning, who watched as all the vehicles stopped in front of the Arrecife Gran Hotel. According to the Security and Emergency Consortium, it was a drill at the hotel establishment.
Emergency personnel evacuated the kitchen staff of the capital's hotel, and they had to wait in the vicinity of the establishment. Firefighters entered with firefighting equipment, and the National and Local Police cordoned off the drill area so that no one would cross the boundaries.
Many people came to see what had happened, worried that something serious was happening at the Arrecife Gran Hotel. Fortunately, it was a drill, which is essential for both emergency personnel and hotel staff to know what to do in case of an emergency.
