Feminism conquers the streets of Arrecife on 8-M

The demonstration began shortly after 7:00 p.m. and brought together all the feminist associations on the island.

March 8th Demonstration

After a day of events by various associations, unions and institutions, International Women's Day culminated in Lanzarote with a large demonstration, in which women and men joined in the demand for gender equality.

The event began at 4:00 p.m., when the first attendees gathered to participate in the banner workshop, which were later displayed at the concentration.

At 6:00 p.m., the reading of manifestos began in the Ramírez Cerdá Park, where Isabel Cabrera's monologue "Fortunate Women" was also performed.

Finally, shortly after 7:00 p.m., the demonstration began, flooding the streets of Arrecife with feminism on the occasion of this 8-M.

On the island, unlike what has happened this year in other parts of Spain, the event has been a single one, and has included all the feminist associations of Lanzarote. Other groups have joined them, as well as public officials from various institutions, who have marched alongside the women on their day.
