The Unión Norte Orvecame Wrestling Club wishes to express our deepest sorrow for the passing of Doña Felisa Álvarez Martín, a resident of Órzola, whose life was closely linked to her family and the history of this town in the north of Lanzarote.
Felisa was the wife of José Domingo de León Dorta, known for his role as a shepherd and popular poet of Órzola, a figure linked to the memory and traditions of this locality. Her name also forms part of the oral history of the municipality of Haría, where testimonies and memories of her life and the customs of past eras have been collected.
She was the mother of Marcos de León, a former wrestler, former director, and a person closely linked to the trajectory of Unión Norte Orvecame, as well as Domingo de León, also a former director of our entity.
Her connection to our club continues through her grandsons, Nauzet and Tinguaro de León, wrestlers from our sports family who keep that family legacy alive on the wrestling grounds.
Felisa's story also represents a part of the memory of Órzola, its families, and those generations who have contributed to preserving the identity, traditions, and essence of our towns.
"Today is a sad day for all of us who are part of this entity. We want to especially accompany Marcos, Domingo, Nauzet, and Tinguaro, as well as the rest of their family and loved ones, conveying all our affection, closeness, and solidarity in these difficult times."
From Unión Norte Orvecame, we want to send them a huge hug. "Because our club is much more than a team: it is a family, a shared history, and a feeling that unites several generations."
