The Association of Volunteers in Emergencies and Rescue of Lanzarote (Emerlan) attended to 41 people during Holy Week on the island.
Specifically, between March 25 and 31 they established a special device in which they rescued 16 people who had to be referred to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.
In addition, two cyclists injured were treated on the island of La Graciosa. One of them, on Lambra Beach and another in Pedro Barbas. After that, they were transferred to the Local Clinic.
Most of the interventions consisted of cures on the spot. Specifically, 21 cures were performed. While they performed a rescue of a person in distress in Playa Honda and support to a fishing boat with mechanical problems off the coast of Puerto del Carmen.
The device was composed of more than 35 people including lifeguards, skippers, sailors, emergency medical technicians and rescuers.
