The Independent Trade Union and Civil Servants (CSIF) won the most votes in the trade union elections to elect those who will represent the civil servants on the Personnel Board of the Arrecife City Council for the next four years, which were held last Monday.
The union highlights that it obtained a "considerable increase", achieving 44 of the votes at stake, which translates into the achievement of three delegates. Thus, it has improved its previous representation, which was previously only one representative.
In view of this, CSIF wanted to thank those who voted for them for their "trust", stating that it hopes to continue demonstrating its "constant effort" to "defend and vindicate their rights".
As for UGT, it obtained just over 30 votes in these elections, also managing to have three representatives. For its part, Asipal obtained two delegates and Intersindical Canaria one, while CCOO did not present a candidacy for these elections.
However, UGT is still the union with the most representation in the Arrecife City Council, since it has 13 representatives on the Labor Personnel Board, while the rest of the unions do not have any. Thus, at the General Negotiation Table for Public Employees, where the representation in both committees is added, UGT has 16 delegates, CSIF has three, Asipal has two and Intersindical Canaria has one.
