Economic difficulties led a couple from Tías to accumulate more than 78,000 euros in debt. The Justice, through the Second Chance Law, has released them from this debt so that they can start from scratch.
The cause of the indebtedness was generated, among other causes, due to the delicate work situation of the couple when the scarce income they received was added to the attempt to start a business activity that did not prosper and led them to have problems with another partner. In order to obtain liquidity to preserve the business and cover their basic expenses, they contracted different financial products, anticipating that they could assume their payment in the long term and meet the quotas.
Over time and the crisis derived from the pandemic, the worsening of their economic situation led them to accumulate even more debts and interest, leading to a situation of economic insolvency.
The experts from the specialized company Canarias Sin Deuda, which has its headquarters in Arrecife, have carried out the procedure that has concluded with a happy ending for Giovanni Firrincieli and Silvia Bortolotto.
When all their resources were exhausted, they turned as a last possible resort to the Second Chance Law and the help of Canarias Sin Deuda. “In a first appointment, which is always free, we analyze if those affected by over-indebtedness meet the requirements to qualify for the law and only once verified we recommend starting the procedure,” they explain from the company Canarias Sin Deuda.
“In the case of Giovanni and Silvia, the conditions were met, they had debts with several creditors, they had acted in good faith trying to keep up to date and there were unforeseen circumstances that had led them to bankruptcy. So we were able to gather the documentation and request the bankruptcy proceeding for the cancellation of the debt,” they add. The Justice has finally granted them a new opportunity with the cancellation of the total amount of the debt that prevented them from moving forward. In addition, during the procedure, the couple's home and vehicle have also been safeguarded, free of charges.
From Canarias Sin Deuda they warn of the importance, in the face of a complicated economic situation, of analyzing well the external financing products that are contracted and making a good plan of expenses and payments, in order not to lose control and derive in an unrecoverable debt spiral.
