CCOO denounces the "precarious" situation of the employees of the security company SH

The union does not rule out the possibility of initiating a strike due to repeated delays in the payment of workers' salaries.

The Comisiones Obreras union has denounced the "precarious" situation of the 50 workers of the security company SH, as they suffer constant delays in the payment of their salaries.

Vanesa Frahija, general secretary of CCOO in Lanzarote, maintains that the employees still had not received their corresponding salary on April 25, and adds that "this has been happening for more than seven months"

“It is a painful and shameful situation what this group of workers has been suffering, giving as an example what happened with the salary of last November that they received on December 22, especially sensitive dates although every month these workers must eat and pay their bills”. explains Vanesa Frahija.

In addition, the union describes this situation as "distressing" and states that the company "does not offer solutions, neither in the short nor long term", which generates "uncertainty" and "anxiety" among employees, as they do not know "how they are going to take care of their families."

Currently there are contracts that are already in a situation of termination, due to the non-payment of the April payroll and the insecurity of the payment of the following ones, as well as the repeated delay in previous months, so "there are centers dependent on the concessionaire entity that may be left without the corresponding security service", the union states in a press release.

The SH Seguridad company performs services as important as surveillance in Minors' Centers, in Social Services of the Arrecife City Council, in the INSS, and even in the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital. It is also in charge of the security of various events that take place on the Island of Lanzarote, such as the upcoming Rally Isla de los Volcanes.

For its part, CCOO has already filed the corresponding complaint with the Labor Inspectorate and is awaiting its actions. It also does not rule out the possibility of initiating union actions such as a strike and writing a letter addressed to the President of the Government of the Canary Islands and the President of the Cabildo of Lanzarote so that they intervene in the conflict.
