A boat is rescued in waters near Lanzarote

About 30 people of Maghrebi origin were traveling on the boat.

Maritime Rescue has intercepted a dinghy with about thirty people of Maghrebi origin, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.

The rescue took place early this Saturday, October 4, about 30 kilometers from Arrecife. They are expected to arrive at Puerto Naos around 12 noon, where they will be attended by Red Cross volunteers. The last boat that arrived on the island was on September 21. It was intercepted about 58 nautical miles away and 54 people were traveling on it, including four women, all of sub-Saharan origin, according to the Emergency Consortium.
