Lanzarote will host the International Film Festival of the island 2024 this May, which will celebrate its 24th edition in Arrecife. The actors and actresses Blanca Portillo, Juanjo Artero, Ruth Armas, Irene Escolar, Marta Etura and the screenwriter and film director Benito Zambrano will be the protagonists of the festival as heads of the jury during the next week of May.
An event scheduled from May 16 to 26, in which some famous faces from the Spanish film scene will come to the capital of Lanzarote. In addition, it is a film festival, which has already created a great trajectory on the island, and which includes in the new edition a variety of guests, juries and speakers who will participate in each of the scheduled events.
The renowned actress Blanca Portillo, known for her roles in films such as Volver, Alatriste or Maixabel and series such as 7 vidas, will participate as a jury in the International section of the festival. In addition, another of the mythical Spanish actors Juanjo Artero, recognized for series such as Verano Azul, El Comisario and El Barco and in films such as No peace for the wicked, will also be present at the festival as a jury in the Animation section.
The two actresses that complete the list of the main jury of the festival are Marta Etura, who participated in films such as Mientras duermes or Las 13 Rosas and who will be part of the jury in the Documentary section and Irene Escolar (Los Girasoles Ciegos, Bajo la piel de Lobo or Dime quién soy), as a jury in the National section. Finally, the Spanish screenwriter and director Benito Zambrano, known for his film La Voz dormida, will make up the jury staff in the Documentary section of the festival.
