At least seven people have died on a dinghy with almost 140 occupants rescued early this morning about 150 kilometers northeast of Arrecife (Lanzarote), according to sources from Salvamento Marítimo who informed EFE.
Of the deceased, only two bodies have been recovered, which remained on the vessel, as the other five were thrown overboard into the Atlantic under circumstances yet to be clarified, according to the testimony of the survivors.
The night from Saturday to Sunday has been intense again with rescues on the Canary Route, with four interventions in Lanzarote, according to initial, still provisional, counts.
