The Arrecife City Council has removed, on Friday morning, the sign where swimming was discouraged in the La Pescadería dock. The Health Area of Lanzarote has notified the Department of Environment and Beaches, led by Councilor Davinia Déniz, that the latest analyzes carried out in this enclave have given a good quality of its waters, so swimming is allowed again.
From the City Council, the beaconing has also been removed placed by the Local Police, applying the protocol.
The councilor has detailed that "one of the possible causes that the Health Area is studying may be in this time of high tides and that the entire area was land gained from the sea in the 50s of the last century XX, and that with the high low tides and high tides could drag some small sediment that is reflected in the periodic analyzes carried out by Health in the waters of the coast of the entire island of Lanzarote as the whole of the Canary archipelago".
Davinia Déniz has highlighted that this enclave of La Pescadería is used occasionally by some bathers to take a dip.
According to the City Council, "the entire maritime coast of Arrecife offers optimal conditions of water quality and services on the beaches that allows bathers to enjoy at any time of the year, even more so in these very hot weeks due to the high temperatures that are being recorded".
