Half a hundred boys and girls participate in the Children's Costume Contest of Arrecife

The Children's Costume Contest of the Arrecife Carnival, with more than fifty participants, took place this past Tuesday at the Arrecife Fairgrounds. The theme of the costumes revolved around children's television from the 80s and 90s, coinciding with this year's carnival theme.

Yago Avero was the winner in the individual category, which had 22 contestants, with his original costume titled ‘Our TV of the 80s and 90s’. The second prize went to Lucas Díaz with ‘Blue from Rio’ and the third to Dailos Umpiérrez who participated disguised as ‘Dailos the Firefighter’.

Regarding couples, a category that had eight contestants, the 'Cacatúas' won, followed by 'Toy Story' and 'Las Guerreras K-Pop'; while in the groups category, which had six participants, the first prize went to 'Reino Hielo', the second to 'Abejita Chiquitita' and the third to 'Yellowstone'.

Led by José Duarte, the opening of the gala was carried out by the MT Dance School of Dance, which performed the musical titled ‘The Heart of Carnival’, while La Pandilla de Drilo was in charge of the closing with their children's show ‘The Wonderful World of Drilo’.
