Actress Antonia San Juan canceled one of her performances in Teguise last Sunday because she "did not have a bathroom to access" before the theatrical play that was going to be performed at the Convent of Santo Domingo. A topic that has already been criticized by citizens, in fact a year ago a citizen's complaint was published denouncing that a motorhome was used as a dressing room.
"She arrived 50 minutes before the performance and said she wasn't going to perform," the Councilor for Culture of the Teguise City Council, Javier Díaz, revealed to La Voz. "She refused at all times to speak with representatives of the city council," he added.
From the Teguise Consistory they are "surprised" by the actress's attitude. "The team had everything prepared, an alternative could have been found," they revealed. In addition, San Juan also did not want to access the options that were given to her from the city council. "She did not want to attend to the solutions that were being offered to her," he highlighted.
In addition, Diaz affirms that the actress and her team did not complain at any time about the state in which they had to act. "The representative was in the convent from the afternoon and did not raise any complaints about the state of the equipment," Díaz pointed out.
From the Culture Area of the city council they have recalled that "they are not allowed to make the bathroom as it is a heritage building." Although they make it clear that they put at her disposal "the bathroom of the Consistory, which was next door," added the councilor.
The Consistory has indicated that it produces a "great sadness that the neighbors have not been able to enjoy the function", but they have clarified that this Wednesday "the money was already returned to the citizens."
