Another Covid patient dies in Lanzarote

The island already has 75 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, three of them this month

Lanzarote has added a new death linked to Covid-19, which has already left 75 deaths on the island since the beginning of the pandemic. The previous death due to the disease was reported on August 12, an 80-year-old woman who was in hospital. 

As for the Canary Islands as a whole, 8 deaths have been recorded since last Friday, all of patients who were hospitalized. Along with the one in Lanzarote, there have been four in Tenerife, two in Gran Canaria and one in La Gomera. Two of the deceased were 47 and 59 years old, and the rest between 72 and 90 years old.

Regarding the new positives, in the last four days 425 have been confirmed among people over 60 years of age, which is the only age group that continues to be tested.

The Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days is 417.72 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days it is 176.86. 

Currently, in the archipelago there are 177 people admitted to hospital for coronavirus, of which 11 are in the ICU and the rest, 166, are on the ward.
