An angel shark was rescued on Sunday morning in Playa Honda, where it had been stranded.
Volunteer firefighters from Lanzarote (Boluntis) went to the scene together with agents from the Cabildo's Injured Wildlife service, who confirmed that the animal had no apparent injuries.
"It had become trapped in a barrier of stones," they explain from the institution.
With the help of Boluntis personnel, they placed it on a flag to be able to move it to the sea, where they released it "in perfect condition."
The angel shark is common in Lanzarote waters and its appearance is a mixture between ray fish, for its head, and shark, for its tail.
In this case, the specimen weighed about 60 kilos and measured more than one meter.
